Welcome to Pause The Moment!
Welcome to the new and improved Pause The Moment! Once, a home to my personal photography portfolio now turned travel blog!
The story behind this trip…
In September of 2007 I decided that I needed a vacation, plain and simple. I jumped on AerLingus.com and booked a flight to Ireland for April 20th, 2008 a day after my 24th Birthday. Although I dreamt of traveling Europe one day, at the time of booking I never really thought that the time would be now.
Over the course of the last few months, my dreams have slowly morphed into reality as that single flight has turned into 5 + flights, multiple buses, a few trains, and a ferry to over 25 cities, in 15 + countries (warning: these numbers will drastically climb once I actually get to Europe - this is only what I have planned as of now).
In between all of the hectic trip planning that’s been going on, I’ve taken the old PTM and I’ve decided to turn it into a travel blog. Not only will this be a great way for me to archive and present all of my stories, memories, photos and videos from my trip, but it’ll also work as a great tool for all of my friends and family back home. You’ll be able to log on to PTM daily, weekly, or even monthly to find out where I’ve been, where I am currently, who I’ve met along the way, and best of all the ups and downs of traveling alone on an open ended ticket to Europe.
So be sure to check in frequently and follow along while I wander aimlessly through the streets of unknown cities not knowing a single word of the native language, attempt to catch up on a few hours sleep in a hostel full of drunk kids, mountain bike through the Austrian Alps, bungee jump from the Verzasca Dam: “007 Golden Eye Bungee Jump” - (Highest in the world - 721ft) in southern Switzerland and much, much more!
This is going to be one hell of a journey, so why not come along for the ride?
