Off to Spain!

I’m heading off to Alicante, Spain today around 1:00PM and should be landing in Spain around 5:30PM, they are 1 hour ahead of Ireland so it’s about a 3 Hour flight. Not too bad!
I had some issues last night packing again, but this time due to flying RyanAir, the restrictions are very strict. They are a budget airline so they offer you super cheap flights but passengers beware when you go over your baggage weight or measurements by an ounce or a centimeter they WILL charge you astronomical fees!
I decided that I didnt’ want to check a bag in, so I’m heading off to Spain with a backpack. Yes, an average sized backpack that barely fits my laptop, 4 pairs of boxers, 4 pairs of socks, 3 t-shirts, 1 pair of jeans, and one pair of flip flops. Due to not being able to fit anything else in the bag without going over the baggage restrictions, I’m wearing my swim shorts, and cargo shorts on the plane and throwing a long sleeve shirt and fleece over my shoulder in case it gets chilly at night. Ahh… Wish me luck!
The great thing about this RyanAir experience is that I’ll learn from my mistakes if I did make any. Next time I fly RyanAir, I’ll know exactly what they let slide and what they don’t. As far as I hear they don’t let anything slide, they whack you for everything! But we’ll see what happens.
I’m not sure if I’ll have an internet connection in Alicante as of yet. I did end up finding a host to stay with on CouchSurfing. This will be my first ever “CouchSurfing” experience, I’m pretty excited! After searching for a host on CS, I came across a young polish woman who is a student in Alicante and lives about 15 minutes walk distance outside of the city center. She seemed very excited to be able to host me at her place and to show me around Alicante! If everything goes to plan I will have saved over $330.00 on accommodations in Alicante, so all of that money should now be able to go towards sightseeing and leisure!
I’ll be sure to follow up on this to let you all know that I’m alive and well… Haha!
