Dazed and Confused in Dahab
Tweet
We’ve been in Dahab for three days now and we just absolutely LOVE this place. Our days consist of lounging around in the endless piles of pillows along the sea front, walking along the ocean, haggling at the shops, eating falafel, wasting our days away on the free sea side WIFI, snorkeling, and more.
Penguin Village
We’re staying at a super cheap sea side budget hotel called Penguin Village. We’ve got a double room with en-suite bathroom, full sized bed, and air conditioning all for a measly 90EGP ($15 USD/per night).
Our friend Crumb has his own single room with two twin beds, a fan, and shared bathroom and he’s paying only 40EGP ($7.03USD/per night). The rooms are immaculate and the grounds are extremely clean. This is the cleanest place we’ve been to in Egypt so far.

The hotel, dive shop and Penguin Restaurant sit along the edge of the Red Sea. The restaurant has a downstairs and an upstairs rooftop lounge where you can sit out day or night to enjoy the sun, or gaze at the stars and the city lights shining bright from Saudi Arabia, just across the sea.

This is the Life…
I often forget what day it is, and sometimes I don’t even care to look at my watch, or a calendar to find out. It’s a great feeling to know that you have no plans today, tomorrow or the following. We’re not taking things day by day, we’re taking things hour by hour.
This trip is a reminder for us that hard work pays off. It’s such a rewarding feeling to know that we won’t have to get back to work anytime soon. This is just the beginning for us!
Off to do some more relaxing! Next week we’ll be heading off to explore Athens for a few days before venturing over to the island of Santorini to experience the sunsets that we’ve all read about.

Sounds absolutely fabulous. This is exactly the experience that we hope to have when we leave for our RTW next month. Keep posting! Living vicariously through you this last month.
What a life. I'm so jealous. How romantic it will be riding horses at sunset in the desert and beach. You'll never want to come home . Rember the SUNSCREEN!
We were looking at Dahab for a while! With $15/night its definitely do-able. You guys look like you are having a blast and I look forward to hearing more on your adventures. <3

Dahab sounds great. Falafel happens to be one of my favorite foods :) For some reason I had to laugh when you mentioned your friend named Crumb. $15/night is a steal!

Dahab is the best! I'm looking forward to getting back there in a couple of weeks. Don't miss it!
What would you say would be the best option flying from Newark International Airport to get to Egypt? Cheapest option I should say. would you agree that flying into Cairo and taking the bus to Dahab would be best? Very interested in visiting this place.
Hi Chad,
Your best bet would be to fly from Newark to Cairo and then bus it to Dahab. I have a boat load of information to give you regarding Dahab if interested please email me using the contact form here: http://www.pausethemoment.com/contact/
