  1. Drooling over the first photo, waterproof camera?
My recent post Have you met Andres

    • Yeah I have the Canon SD960IS with the official Canon waterproof housing. I've only used it twice so far on the trip, but it will get plenty of use once we get to Asia! ;)

  2. Excellent photos capturing the diversity of Egypt. So many people think it is just pyramids and ruins, but there is so much more. We never made it to Alexandria, wish we did now!

    • Thanks Dave & Deb! You said it exactly… there is so much more to Egypt than the typical tourist spots. Alexandria was refreshing for sure.

  3. I am soooooo envious!!!!!

    • Don't be envious, come along with us! ;)

  4. Awesome pics. The Alexandria Library is an interesting contrast, it’s so huge and modern in an ancient city.

The flipped over Land Rover looks like it involved a memorable story.

    • Thanks Nick! It's amazing, isn't it?

Yeah the roll over is something that I'll never forget. That's for sure…

  5. Amazing photos! Can’t wait till we visit Egypt! Such diversity in all your photographs! Especially liked your photo on the Egyptian Sufi dance and the car in the desert! Were you in the car when it rolled?!

    • Thanks Elise! Make sure you try to get off the beaten track a bit when in Egypt. The Sufi dance was a great experience and it's a FREE show which performs weekly on Wednesday nights (I'm pretty sure) in Islamic Cairo. Don't miss it! Get there early to secure your free ticket as it fills up fairly quickly.

Yes, unfortunately we were inside the jeep when it flipped. Be sure to go back to our post called "Scary Day in the Sahara" to read all about it.

  6. These photos are insanely good!!!!! I can’t pick a favorite. Makes me want to get on the 1st flight to Egypt.

    • Thanks Federico, I'm glad you enjoyed them. Yeah, the camera does well underwater with the Canon waterproof housing that I have along with me.

  8. Is Mubarak going down? Just like what happened in Tunisia?
