Behind the Photo: “Adopt Me!”

This cute little puppy is looking for a home!

While spending time in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia, Liz and I had heard of an Animal Welfare organization called BAWA and we were eager to check it out. Once we arrived at the BAWA office and found out more about the organization we decided that we wanted to give back and volunteer some of our time. We headed down to the shelter which houses many dogs and cats that have been rescued from the streets of Bali. One of which was this cute little puppy that was just waiting to be adopted. If I hadn’t been traveling I would have thought about picking this little guy up, believe me. How can you resist him?

When in Ubud, I highly recommend you check out the Bali Animal Welfare Association. It’s well worth a look, and maybe you can volunteer to walk the dogs like we did. The organization needs any help they can get.

Check out the BAWA website here:  Bali Animal Welfare Association

  1. Passed on the link to a friend who’s in Bali right now!

  2. Ohhh my gosh he's so cute! I adopted two pups in Costa Rica and brought them home with me: http://bit.ly/ann7Vg The organization there is called C.A.R.E. — they do a clinic every month to fix dogs and cats. There are so many strays out there. So happy you were able to volunteer!

    • Wow, that's excellent Abby! It's so hard to leave without them, huh? It's great when you find good organizations like that. Thanks for the comment.

  6. OMG, isn't it just hearbreaking to see the condition of some of the street dogs in Bali (or anywhere in Indonesia)? I volunteer at a local shelter here in California and seeing the living condition of street animals is what I dread the most about coming home (to Indonesia). I feel sooo helpless…
