From a villa or hotel base you can experience the many different sides of the Sunshine State. Alternatively, many people choose to enjoy multi-centre holidays in Florida. That way, the family can experience two or more very different types of holiday in one; the perfect way to people please!
Grab the Florida brochures and spend some time as a family discussing what you are looking to get from your Florida holiday. In the meantime here are some suggestions to get you on your way to planning your perfect Florida holidays in 2012:
For the Tots
There’s one place in Florida that you simply can’t miss if you have little ones in the family. The world’s largest and most visited theme park, Walt Disney World. An enchanting wonderland twice the size of Manhattan, it’s a place to make all your tots ‘ dreams come true.
The Magic Kingdom has the most to offer small ones, with its classic rides and attractions such as Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Peter Pan’s Flight and the iconic It’s a Small World ride. Imagine the look of wonder on your little one’s face when they see Cinderella’s Castle or meet Mickey Mouse for the first time. A trip to the Magic Kingdom Park at the Walt Disney World Resort will create magical memories that will last a lifetime.
For the Children
Kids at that wonderful, full of energy, primary school age will be in their element in Florida. The Walt Disney World Resort is still a favourite with this age group as they can meet their favourite movie characters such as Buzz and Woody from Toy Story, or perhaps enjoy a ride in super -fast race car Lightning McQueen.
Children who are into animals will enjoy a visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom where they can get close to lions, zebras, giraffes and rhinos in a safe environment. Dino-mad kids will enjoy the dinosaur attractions at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, including digging for fossils in The BoneYard, or getting chased by a hungry Carnotaurus on the DINOSAUR ride.
For the Teens
Teens tend to love the fastest, wettest or most frightening rides, and if that’s the case with the teens in your family you will find that Disney is not just for little ones.
A visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios Park will make you very popular with your teens. From the high speed Rock N’ Roller coaster to the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, this often hard to please age group will enjoy being thrilled and terrified in equal measure. Among the attractions at the Hollywood Studios Park is the American Idol Experience. Here, fans of the X Factor-style show can strut their stuff on stage and get a taste of the popstar/rockstar lifestyle.
Another failsafe option with thrill seeking teens is a visit to a water park. The Disney Resort has two water parks, or spoil them with a trip to the Wet N’ Wild Park for hours of crazy fun in the water.
For the Adults
A trip to the theme parks of Orlando is a great excuse to re-live your youth and join the kids on cute and crazy rides. However, sometimes grown ups need a break from being spun upside down, drenched or spooked. In this case, Busch Gardens is a great all around family day out. With its great rides and attractions set in a vast wildlife park, Busch Gardens offers the chance to break up the rides with some animal encounters, including amazing safari adventures.
For the Grandparents
When grandma and g randpa are coming along too, it’s important to include some gentler activities in your holiday itinerary. SeaWorld is a fantastic Orlando attraction that family members of all ages will enjoy, or maybe Grandpa wants to sneak off to get in a round of golf while the rest of the family enjoy the theme parks.
For rest and relaxation, Florida’s Gold Coast offers a 60-mile stretch of sandy beach resorts, from Miami Beach to Palm Beach, perfect for enjoying the beautiful climate of the Sunshine State.
No matter what the ages or dispositions of your group members, Florida is a fantastic family holiday destination. Offering thrill time and chill time, Florida holidays in 2012 are sure to be enjoyed by the whole family.
