5 Cities You Should Live In For A While
TweetLiving in a new city in a different country on a short-term basis is incredibly exciting. Companies like City Base Apartments have accommodation available all over the world to rent and here are five places that are definitely worth spending an extended period of time in if the chance ever arises.
Amsterdam

The Dutch capital is a fascinating city, with its intricate maze of canals and distinctly different cultural attractions. From the smut and sleaze of Da Wellen in the heart of the world-famous red light district to the sophisticated collection of interesting museums, Amsterdam offers many things to many different people. And the only way to really take it all in is to set up a temporary home from home in Holland’s iconic city. You could easily spend a week alone just visiting places of interest like the Van Gogh museum and the house that Anne Frank hid in away from the Nazis during the Second World War. Amsterdam is also renowned for its vibrant nightlife.
London

Sprawling London consists of 32 boroughs, each with its own unique charm and personality. An estimated 300 languages are spoken by residents in England’s capital city, which gives an idea of just how diverse and multicultural London actually is. It also shows the appeal of the place on a global scale. Not even born and bred Londoners will have explored every nook and cranny of their own backyard and there’s something intensely appealing about discovering London without any real time constraints. A host of free museums, including the Tate Modern, will keep your average culture vulture more than happy, while the build-up to next year’s Olympics in London is well under way – it’s never been easier to be part of the sporting extravaganza.
Madrid
Another capital city well worth sampling is Madrid in central Spain, which is home to one of the most famous and prestigious football clubs in the world in the form of Real Madrid. The rich history and heritage of Madrid is never far from view and a series of small picturesque squares located around the city prove an idyllic setting to watch the world go by and enjoy the mouth-watering local cuisine and an ice-cold beer or cocktail on a long summer afternoon. The quirky tapas dishes served in some of the city’s best bars are worth paying the air fare alone to get to Madrid in the first place.
Munich
The one thing you can guarantee if you make a point of visiting Munich is that you’ll be afforded the warmest of welcomes by the locals. The Bavarian people really are some of the most pleasant you’re likely to come across not only in Europe, but also the world. The best way to make a few new friends in German’s third-largest city is to get stuck into a few delicious locally-brewed beverages in one of the many beer halls and taverns in Munich. Beer enthusiasts might also fancy stopping in Munich during Oktoberfest, which lasts for nearly three weeks and attracts millions every year. The borders with Austria, France and Italy are also close-by.
New York
It’s not known as the ‘city that never sleeps’ for nothing. No matter time of the year you stop off to enjoy a bite-sized chunk of the ‘Big Apple’, you won’t be disappointed. New York is like no other place on earth when it comes to the hustle and bustle of city life; it really does have it all. Whether you want to indulge in a spot of retail therapy, watch an iconic show on Broadway or see some of the most well-known tourist attractions on the planet, there’s rarely a dull moment in New York.
Hey, nice synopsis of these cities. New York is the city that we no don’t sleep and we all know that la and philly stay jiggy but on the streets Miami bringin heat for real. Just had a Will Smithgasm.

Austin, TX is high on our list! Random (and in Texas, yikes!), but the vibe is awesome and it’s lovely in so many ways. :)

Seems eurocentric! How about one of the cities in the continent that is home to ~2/3 of all humans, incredible cities such as Tokyo, Hong Kong or Singapore? Or the latin cities of Rio and Buenos Aires?
