The Best Spas in Las Vegas
TweetSin City might be famous for its casinos and high-living, but did you now it’s also home to some top quality spas? An ideal way to celebrate success or forget about the woes of losing!
You may not expect it, but Las Vegas has some world-class spas to help soothe your spirits and counter the effects of those all-you-can-eat buffets. And the more time you spend looking after yourself, the less time you’ll be put in temptation’s way!
Sahra Hammam
Almost every spa in the world bills itself as an ‘oasis’, but Sahra has more claim to this label than most. It’s part of the Strip’s hippest new hotel, a hangar for the bright and beautiful called The Cosmopolitan. The stunning centrepiece of the spa is the Sahra Hammam, where you can be steamed and scrubbed to glowing health.

Bellagio Spa
The famous Vegas institution of The Bellagio houses what was the very first of the grand spas in Vegas. The entrance pays glorious homage to the hotel’s predilection for flashy gold interiors, but the further you wander into the spa, the more subtle the décor. The unique draw of the Bellagio spa is the Watsu Massage, an aquatic treatment combining Zen Shiatsu and stretching while you float in a private 94-degree pool. Blissful.

Qua Baths & Spa
No-one did aquatic relaxation quite like the Romans. As one of the few civilisations to have a bath named after them, they had to have been doing something right. The Roman Baths in Qua in Caesar’s Palace are a three-tired affair, with a soothing warm bath as the main attraction. The adjacent plunge pools offer two experiences, one extremely hot, the other extremely cold. Those guests with the requisite fortitude will dip between them in rapid succession (I advise the hot first and then the cold – your body doesn’t really get time to register the chill until you’re out). The classically-themed therapy continues in the Laconium Room, inspired by ancient steam baths and it’s really good for tranquillity and stress reduction.

Reliquary Spa
If you’re a hotel with a certain reputation for fast living, then it becomes a fine to walk, treading the line between rock and roll and looking after yourself. Hard Rock Hotel certainly gives it its best shot, mixing musical excess with an eye on a more relaxing experience. The first thing you’ll notice is the difference in interior design. Instead of the usual pastel shades and calming colours, there are striking monochrome modern artworks that spell out Pink Floyd lyrics in the spa here.
The hotel’s signature treatment is also somewhat rock and roll in terms of items you could pick off a spa menu. The Ancient Cane Ritual (a perfect name for a heavy metal band, no?) uses raw sugar cane juice with creamy oils, administered via deft use of bamboo reeds. The practitioners channel the spirit of Keith Moon to drum, tap and roll the oils into your skin – as percussive a treatment as you’re likely to find. The facilities encourage you to ‘embrace your inner narcissist’, and you can bet that in Vegas, some clients need less persuasion than others.
