Don’t miss: The 4th of July in Key West without Fireworks!?

Although we went out without a bang last night in Key West, we awoke this morning with adventure on our minds. All we wanted to do on our last full day in Key West was to have some fun in the sun and that’s exactly what we did!

We headed into town to meet up with the Fury crew on our last and final day in Key West. Today we would be heading out on the water with Fury and experiencing everything that the Fury Ultimate Adventure has to offer!

What is the Fury Ultimate Adventure?

Fury Ultimate Adventure
Fury Ultimate Adventure!

The Fury Ultimate Adventure is an action packed day full of everything under the sun. Literally. From giant waterslides, inflatable rock walls, water trampolines, jetskiing, parasailing, kayaking, snorkeling, sunbathing and more!

Did I mention free unlimited food and drinks all day?

Fury’s 65″ catamaran has everything you need to enjoy a beautiful day on the water. The boat is equipped with two restrooms, a full bar area, two large decks for sunbathing, and it’s stocked with all sorts of food and drinks so that you’ll never go hungry.

Trampolines, Waterslides & Inflatable Rock Walls

Our first stop of the morning was at Fury’s adventure island, a floating dock about 3/4 mile off the coast of Key West. This is where the fun begins!

Everyone is assigned a group number when you begin your day with Fury so every activity is very well organized by groups. Once your group is called you move on to the next activity of the day. Our group number was called shortly after we finished up with the trampoline, waterslide and rock wall area.

Parasailing

Woooooooohoooo!

Our favorite part of the day was the Parasailing as neither Liz or I had ever done it before. We volunteered to go first as some of the other couples in the boat with us were a little hesitant to get suited up.

As soon as the wind lifted us off the back of the boat we felt as if we were in total control. Everything felt 100% safe and secure. All we had to worry about was enjoying our 15 minutes of flying high in the sky!

Flying high!

Although the harnesses look a little daunting, they weren’t half as uncomfortable as I thought they would be. Also, I should mention that neither of us are afraid of heights by any means so we found the views from the top to be absolutely incredible.

Jetskiing

Full speed ahead!

If you’ve been following along with this blog for a while now, you probably have noticed that it’s not often that I let Liz take the wheel of any motorized vehicle. Just kidding!

We look forward to the day that we have a camera crew and our own television show but we’re still waiting on the call. Ahem, moving on.

Cruising around on the Fury Jetskis was a lot of fun. Liz had the throttle pinned almost the entire time and we were absolutely flying. I’m fortunate to have a girlfriend who has no fear and loves an adrenaline rush. After a few minutes we switched spots and I took the wheel before heading back in to the docks.

Note: You do not have the ability to just take off on your own on these jetskis. There are boundaries in which you have to stay inside and they are marked by a bunch of big red buoys.

At first it’s a little disappointing thinking that you can’t just take off and mess around on the jetskis but you have to remember that there are people that would take advantage of the situation, do something stupid and end up in the hospital. You know, those people who always ruin it for everyone? Well, Fury’s rules are for those guys. In retrospect, I agree with the safety precautions that Fury takes when it comes to the jetskis.

Snorkeling

Snorkeling at the only living coral reef in North America…

Next, we cruise 7 miles South to the only living barrier reef in North America and the third largest in the world after the Great Barrier reef in Australia and Belize.

Okay, so snorkeling here in North America is nothing like snorkeling in the Red Sea. That said, the snorkeling here isn’t horrible. The visibility was probably about 10-15 feet at best and the water had decent clarity to it.

Pros: The Fury Staff provides all of the necessary equipment you need to snorkel including instructions for those who are first timers. Since Fury is all about safety, they place a staff member in the water to keep an eye out for snorkelers as well as one staff member on deck who makes sure everyone is all safe and has all of their gear on correctly.

Cons: The visibility and the fact that there was about 100 people swimming around me at all times so I felt as if I couldn’t escape the crowds and focus on enjoying what I was there for. After getting kicked and ran into a few times, I decided to make my way back to the catamaran and call it a day.

One thing that Fury could improve on when it comes to the snorkeling is to send small groups out into the water versus letting everyone kick around at the same time. Of course, that’s just my opinion.
