Pacific Coast Bike Tour Day 27: Lagunitas to San Francisco
Don’t miss: Pacific Coast Bike Tour Day 26: Bodega to Lagunitas
Good Morning California!
This is what it looks like when you wake up in the middle of the Redwoods. If this isn’t the perfect way to start a day, then I don’t know what is.
The first priority of the morning was to get to the nearest bike shop. Thankfully, I met a guy named Vince yesterday evening and he said he would bring me to Fairfax Cyclery on his way to San Francisco. Yes, I took the ride and it ended up being 9 miles of horribly maintained road so I didn’t feel too bad about not riding it.
Ochocinco needs a new spoke!
Once we arrived at Fairfax Cyclery, I took my bike into the shop and the guys took a look at it. They installed a new spoke and I informed them of my rear gearing issue I was having that was causing my chain to fall off. The mechanic made some adjustments on the deraileur and I was on my way.
20 Miles of Bike Paths to the Golden Gate Bridge
After leaving the bike shop, we headed towards the bike paths that run through Fairfax and a few other towns and lead directly to the Golden Gate Bridge. Sure, they’re not the most well marked paths so we ended up getting lost a few times. After 20 miles of bike paths, we eventually made it to the Golden Gate and took a quick break to take a few photos.
The Iconic Golden Gate Bridge
Arriving at the Golden Gate bridge was a huge deal for us as San Francisco was one of the places that we really looked forward to exploring. These next few days are really going to rock!
Today’s Mileage: 22.5 mi
