Twistee Treat & The Ringling Bros. Museum
One of the longest stretches of our #StreaminFL road trip was our drive from the Marco Island Marriott to the world class Sandpearl Resort in Clearwater Beach, FL.
We made a few quick pit stops along the way and our first stop was to Flip The Produce Man.
This was really more of a bathroom break than anything but who would have guessed that we would have run into this character?
Flip was one of the many heroes who helped with the clean up in New York City after 9/11. Following the clean up he decided to move down to Florida and open up his own produce stand.
Some of the group picked up a few pieces of fruit for the road. I just settled for a strawberry SOYJOY that I had packed for those time when you need a “pick-me-up” snack.
A VISIT TO TWISTEE TREAT!
Our second stop to Twistee Treat, also known as one of the most iconic ice cream joints in the state of Florida.
You can’t miss this place as all Twistee Treat locations are built in the shape of soft serve ice cream cones. Think ghetto version of Dairy Queen. If you haven’t seen the video I created about our visit to Twistee Treat, check it out HERE.
NEXT STOP: RINGLING BROS. MUSEUM!
Our last stop before arriving in Clearwater Beach was the incredibly interesting and informative Ringling Bros Museum.
Normally I’m not too thrilled about museum visits but after spending just a few minutes exploring this place, I found myself walking around and looking forward to seeing what was around each and every corner.
My favorite part of the museum was the CA’D'ZAN Mansion. Unfortunately, it was closed for the day so we didn’t get to tour the inside but we did get to see it in all of its glory from the outside.
