Cliff Jumping with Friends at Cenote Eden

My buddy Nate was in town for last week and we took him to his first cenote. As a matter of fact, it was a first for us as well.

Our good friend and fellow Playa expat, Cassie, played tour guide as she had been to this particular cenote before.

We couldn’t have been more thrilled to have her show us the ropes!

The proper name for Cenote Eden is actually Cenote Jardin del Eden.

It’s located approximately 15 miles south of Playa del Carmen almost directly across from the Barcelo Maya Resort.

How to Get to Cenote Eden

From Playa del Carmen, you can take a colectvio from the colectiov stand located on  Calle 2 Norte between Avenida 15 and 20.

Hop on board one of the colectivos headed towards Tulum and tell the colectivo attendant you want to be dropped at Cenote Eden before getting in the van.

Once you see the Barcelo Maya on your left, you’ll know you’re there.

You’ll see Cenote Jardin del Eden and Cenote Azul on your right hand side. There a variety of other cenotes in the area as well.

Always be ready to yell out “Alto, aqui, por favor” (Stop here, please!) just in case the driver forgets where you want to get dropped off.

A colectivo from Playa del Carmen to Cenote Eden should cost around 30 pesos ($2.25 USD) one-way per person.

Cenote Eden Asmision Price

The cost to get into Cenote Jardin del Eden is quite high at 60 pesos ($4.55 USD) when compared to many of the other cenotes in the area.

That being said, this cenote rocks, so be sure not to miss it!
