[box] Did you miss: Washington DC Road Trip Announcement! If so, be sure to check it out![/box]

Last week I received an email from Qatar Airways inviting me down to Washington D.C. for a media event that they have going on this week. I’ll get into the details of this media event at a later time, for now I’ll fill you in on my travels up to this point.

On Sunday night, I decided to pack up my car and get this road trip started!

First stop: Lambertville, New Jersey.

Yep, back to Lambertville, I go! If you’ve followed along recently, you would know that I was down here in Lambertville last week on the first night of my End of Summer Road Trip. This week it’s just a stop along the way and a visit to my friend Aubrey on a spontaneous road trip to DC.

If you missed out on my first night in Lambertville last week, be sure to check it out here: Welcome to Lambertville.

I pulled out of my driveway on Sunday night around 6:10PM. By the time I stopped to top off my gas and got on the highway it was just about 6:30. From then on it was smooth sailing down the most boring highway in the world also known as Route 95. The GPS on my phone told me it would take about 5 hrs 49 minutes before arriving at my friend Aubrey’s.

I had never used the GPS on my phone prior to this trip so I was really hoping that it wouldn’t fail me…

5 Hours and 49 Minutes to go...

Here’s an idea of what the route looks like…

I stopped just once along the way at a road side rest stop. I was in need of some sugar to keep my brain from dozing off. Driving on Rt 95 for 148 miles is exhausting, let me tell you. I snatched up a strawberry banana smoothie at McDonalds and it was back to good ol’ 95.

Since this was my first official road trip with my new car, I tracked my mileage along the way and I’m excited to report that through out my drive from Bridgewater to Lambertville, my car was getting an average of 32.3 MPG! By the time I got to Lambertville I was at around 33.4 MPG. Pretty damn good if you ask me!

32.3 MPG!

Just five hours and fifteen minutes later I arrived in Lambertville. It was like I had never left. As a matter of fact, I probably shouldn’t have left in the first place. It would have saved me the drive down here…

Fun with Numbers:

# of miles from Bridgewater, MA to Lambertville, New Jersey – 298

# of dead deer carcasses spotted on the side of the road – 2

# of photos taken through out the 5 hr ride – 5

# of cops spotted along the way – 2
