Familymoons have been becoming more and more popular by the day thanks to the pandemic.

Many families are starting to plan vacations after being stuck in their homes for so long without having a chance to interact with their friends and extended family.

What is a familymoon you might ask? A familymoon is basically a honeymoon with your partner and your children.

While a honeymoon with the kids might sound a little unusual, more newlywed parents are starting to include their children from one or both marriages to join them in their celebration.

Think of it as a family trip that packs a little extra punch of excitement. Not only due to the activities and adventure but for the celebration of a new chapter.

Let’s face it, getting outside and being active is exactly what a family needs these days after being locked in and glued to their iPads, computers and phones for far too long now.

Below, you’ll find a short list of the top destinations for familymoons for the remainder of 2021 and into 2022.

Jamaica

Jamaica is our first destination the list for a few reasons, one being that the island is perfect for those looking for places to go on their upcoming familymoon. With the wide variety of hotels, resorts and activities available, it’s not surprising as to why Jamaica is a hotspot for families and honeymooners alike.

Montego Bay, Negril, Ocho Rios, Kingston, and Port Antonio are some of the most popular spots in Jamaica.

The diversity that Jamaica offers is so extensive that you can go from relaxing on the beach in Negril to scuba diving off the coast of Ocho Rios in less than 3 hours.

The deep and blue waters of Jamaica offer world class game fishing with well-equipped boats for those who enjoy deep sea fishing.

It’s recommended to visit Jamaica before the high season approaches as the flight and resort deals are much more favorable during these times.

However if you like the peak time and enjoy the crowds, mid-December to April would be suitable as the weather is beautiful during these months.

Aruba

With vibrant blue sky and exquisite white sand, Aruba is truly a piece of paradise. From the bright blue color of the sea to the mesmerizing snorkel and scuba opportunities.

The best way to arrive to Aruba is to fly to Aruba’s Queen Beatrix International Airport in Oranjestad, Aruba. Once you land, you’ll pass through immigration, collect your bags at baggage claim and proceed to the exit.

If you’re an experienced traveler, you will have already pre-booked your airport transfer in advance in order to avoid the long lines and hassles at the Aruba Airport. Once you exit baggage claim, you’ll see a driver holding a sign with your name on it.

Note: We personally recommend using Aruba Airport Transportation for all your transfer needs in Aruba. They offer one-way and round-trip transportation to and from Aruba Airport, Oranjestad and all accommodations in Eagle Beach and Palm Beach.

Aruba offers more than you can imagine for an adventurous family trip. Aruba is known as the “Happy Island” as there is absolutely nothing that this place doesn’t offer from national parks to adventure activities, 5-star resorts, casinos, fine dining and more.

One of the most highly recommended tour companies in Aruba is known as De Palm Tours and they offer a long list of off-road safaris and adventures for you and your family.

Tip: Don’t forget to book in advance if you’re planning on visiting during the high season.

The ideal time to travel to Aruba is between April and August as the prices are considerably less during these months. Also, the threat of tropical storms are a lot less likely during this season. The weather in Aruba from January to March is very pleasant but be prepared to spend more when it comes to accommodations during the high season.

Turks and Caicos

If you’re looking for an all-inclusive familymoon destination, Turks and Caicos might be the perfect choice for you.

From beautiful resorts offering comfortable accommodations to sugar sand beaches with a pristine atmosphere, Turks and Caicos is a perfect destination for a familymoon vacation.

If you’re a beach lover, a visit to Turks and Caicos might cross multiple things off your bucket list all in one trip.

The best time to visit Turks and Caicos is during the months of February, March, and April. Turks and Caicos is an ideal spring getaway.

You might miss out on a lot if you visit in December as it is the busiest then with a lot of crowds due to the Christmas holidays.

The Bahamas

The Bahamas is heaven for beach lovers. It encompasses 700 islands and nearly 2,000 cays spread across the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.

If you live in Florida, The Bahamas is a perfect pick for your familymoon as it’s close by and easy to reach. It offers a beautiful stretch of sandy beaches accompanied by beautiful blue seas. Oh, and swimming pigs.

The Bahamas has a lot to offer for families and plenty of things to see and do. From world-class fishing and diving to sailing and snorkeling, this incredible destination has everything you and your family could ever want or need from a vacation.

The best time to visit the Bahamas is between November and April if you’re looking to escape the winter months in many parts of the United States. The average temperature in the Bahamas is 75 degrees which isn’t unbearably hot, yet warm enough to be out and about with shorts and t-shirts.
