2012 is ROCKING!
Well, to start, I’ve got a whole bunch of exciting travel news to share with you. 2012 is starting to shape up and it seems as if it’s going to be a busy year for Pause The Moment!
Ever since the Mayans claimed that December 21, 2012 will be the end of the world, I’ve decided to fill my entire schedule for 2012 with travel plans. In other words, I’m going to see and do as much as possible this year just in case these wackos are on point with their predictions.
Okay, so enough about the Mayans. Let’s get to the real news!
I’m so excited to share my recently confirmed travel plans with you guys. Notice I say SOME because I’m still holding out on releasing the details of one specific trip that will start on May 1st. The reason for holding out? Well, I’m still in the planning stages and I’m in the middle of ironing out all of the details of this epic trip before releasing it to the public.
Los Angeles
Dates: 4/5 – 4/8
Details: Get this. I’ve never been to LA! Yeah, I have been to my fair share of places around the world but I have still yet to visit good ol’ Los Angeles. The time is now!
While in LA, I’m going to be staying with a couple (Araseli & Mike) who have been long time fans of my website. Oh, the beauty of the internet! No worries, we’ve chatted on more than a few occasions and I actually helped them plan their trip to Thailand last year. If I arrive in LA and you don’t hear from me on Facebook or Twitter within the first 24 hours or so, do me a favor and report me missing! Just kidding.
On a more serious note, I’m really looking forward to hanging with these guys and I’ve got a few exciting things lined up to see and do while I’m there. Keep your eyes peeled!
P.S. – I’m seriously hoping to spot Kim Kardashian while I’m out in LA… just so I can flour bomb her. Just kidding! On a more serious note, if I do end up running into her I won’t leave her alone until I get a 10 second video clip of her saying “Hi, I’m Kim Kardashian and I just paused the moment, how about you?”
Fiji
Dates: 4/8-4/17
Details: Yes, you heard me correctly. FIJI! The day after I returned from a two week trip to South Africa courtesy of South Africa Tourism, I received an email from a rep who works with Tourism Fiji. She wondered if perhaps I would be available to travel to Fiji on April 8th, 2012. Seriously? Of course, I replied with a YESSSSSSSSSSS! I mean, who wouldn’t accept an invitation to visit Fiji on a luxury adventure trip, right?
A few days ago I received the “official” itinerary (subject to changes) for the Fiji Influencer Tour. Here’s just a few of the activities that we’ll be taking part in during the trip; Scuba Diving, Snorkeling,Surfing, White Water Rafting, Ziplining, and more! Oh, did I mention that we’re also scheduled to do some Shark Diving!?
Like South Africa, we will be staying in some incredible accommodations along the way as well. I’ll keep these places as secret as of now just so I don’t end up spoiling everything before I get there…
Secret Trip (TBA)
Dates: 5/1 – ??? (Expected length: 4-6 weeks)
Details: While I’m not ready to release the details of this trip as of yet, I will say that it’s going to be quite the adventure! Not only is this trip going to be one of the most challenging trips that I’ve ever taken, it’s also going to push both my phyiscal and mental limits to the max!
Hint: Think two-wheels.
Note: I will be revealing this secret trip within the next week or so!
Key West
Dates: 7/3 – 7/6
Details: At this point, you’re probably wondering how I manage to keep my girlfriend around with all of the traveling I have planned for 2012 so far. I know, isn’t she so supportive!?
Considering I’m going to be doing so much solo travel in the first half of the year, it was only right that we book a trip as a couple for the first week of July.
At first, we debated on heading to Curacao but we ended up settling on both Key West and Miami. We figured we would stay a little closer to home and do something simple. Seven relaxing days in the sunshine state should do the trick! This is exactly what Liz is going to need after hibernating in a cubicle for the winter, spring and the first part of the summer.
We just received confirmation from the DoubleTree Grand Key Resort in Key West thanks to the great folks over at Hilton.
In case you didn’t know, just a little FYI: Hilton is the Parent company of Doubletree, Embassy Suites Hotels, Hampton Inn and many more hotel chains around the world.
Miami
Dates: 7/6 – 7/10
Details: After a few days in Key West, we’re going to make our way back up to Miami where we plan on meeting up with my buddy David from Davidsbeenhere.com. If all goes as planned, David and his fiance will be playing tour guide for Liz and I while carting us around the Miami area. We’re psyched to get the opportunity to hang out with these guys and seriously fortunate that they will be available during the dates of our trip.
During our visit to Miami, we’ll most likely be sunning ourselves on South Beach, eating our faces off at some of Miami’s best restaurants and there’s even talk that we might be making a trip out to the Everglades. Exciting!
